Zsa Zsa Gabor, the 94-year-old actress, is currently being treated for pneumonia in a Los Angeles hospital. Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to a medical centre on Wednesday (4th May 2011) and is reportedly fighting for her life, according to her spokesman John Blanchette.
Gabor, who has been in-and-out of hospital since having her leg amputated in January, is said to be in a poor condition. Her representative spoke of the grave situation to CNN, saying, "She's having trouble breathing. They're trying to save her life right now, getting the fluids off her lungs". The 94-year-old was taken to UCLA Medical Centre after a doctor had performed an examination at her Bel Air home earlier this week. She was admitted to hospital in March after becoming overcome with grief following the death of her long-time friend Elizabeth Taylor. Recently, doctors had insisted that Gabor would to have her remaining leg amputated, but she declined the surgery. The actress, best known for her flamboyant lifestyle and multiple marriages, has been in poor health since last July when she fell at her home in California and broke her hip.
Recent reports have suggested that Zsa Zsa Gabor and her husband Frederic Prince von Anhalt are looking to have a child together via surrogate. The German-born Prince is said to have given sperm and blood samples to a Beverly Hills clinic.
