LATEST: Rapper Young Jeezy's charity efforts have landed him in trouble with his ex-girlfriend, who insists if he can afford to help hurricane disaster victims he can do a better job supporting their child.
The big-hearted rap star, real name Jay Jenkins, famously opened up his Georgia home last month (SEP04) to Hurricane Katrina victims, and now his ex is keen to see that same charitable spirit when it comes to their nine-year-old son.
News of the rapper's home in Georgia was a shock for Tynesha Dykes, who was told he had little income and owned no assets - including a house or car - while she was fighting him for child support earlier this year (05).
Now her lawyers are keen to prove Young Jeezy has assets amounting to $75,000 (GBP41,670)-a-year - and their client is entitled to 20 per cent of that by Georgia law.
A spokesman for Jeezy's ex says, "She wants a reasonable amount. She's not an opportunist. She is a loving mother who wants a decent lifestyle for her son."
The two parties are due in court on Tuesday (25OCT05).
