The 37-year-old, real name D'Juan Montrel Hart, had been due to take to the stage at the Performing Arts Center at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia when he was arrested outside the venue.

According to The Bulloch County Sheriff's Office, the hip-hop star has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, carrying a weapon in a school safety zone and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Three others were also arrested on drug charges, police added.

Dro is now being held at Bulloch County Jail.

This is the latest in a string of legal issues for the rapper. He was arrested in January (16) on a separate drug charge in Atlanta, Georgia, and in June (16) he was placed on three years' probation for stealing a friend's car.
