Yoko Ono has donated a limited edition commemorative coin featuring John Lennon to an auction benefiting a children's hospital in the late Beatles star's hometown.
Ono is a patron of Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool, England, and she's backing their fundraising initiative, the Imagine appeal.
She's handed over a special coin, one of only 5,000, depicting Lennon with long hair and sideburns, as well as his trademark round glasses, to an auction to help generate cash for the fund.
Ono says, "This special one-off gold coin, made by the Royal Mint, is being donated to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, of which I am a patron.
"This amazing place, one of Europe's biggest and busiest children's hospitals, is very close to my heart and I hope that they can auction this coin and use the proceeds from it to help continue the incredible care and support they provide for children in the North West and all of Europe."
The coin will be sold off in June (11).
