Human rights campaigner Wyclef Jean will be honoured for helping impoverished communities at this year's (09) World Hunger Year Why-Chapin awards.
The former Fugees star has worked in his native Haiti alongside established charitable groups to aid the poverty-stricken country.
And in recognition of his contribution to the cause, the rapper/producer will pick up the Harry Chapin Humanitarian trophy at the event on Monday (08Jun09).
The award will be presented to Jean by Chapin - a Jamaican musician and actor who campaigns for humanitarian charities - at the bash organised by the WHY board.
