The Hunger Games star has also written and will star in the Lost In London LIVE event. He will be joined by pals Owen Wilson and Willie Nelson in the movie, which is loosely based on real events and will be shot in London.

It will be broadcast live to U.S. theatres on 19 January (17).

Harrelson will play himself in the movie, which will centre on his many run-ins with royalty, law enforcement and friends one night, while trying to get home.

"I've always loved theatre and film and wanted to find the best way to merge the two," Harrelson says. "When I decided to shoot this in real time, I realised it wasn't quite like true theatre because the one piece missing was a live audience. By broadcasting the film live as it is being shot I hope to truly blend the excitement of live theatre with the scale and scope of the film."

The 55-year-old will also produce the project, which will be turned into a feature film after its live broadcast.
