Troubled actress Winona Ryder is to make an emphatic double return to cinema screens - less than a year after she was found guilty of vandalism and grand theft.

The actress, who attracted the attention of the world press last year (02) when she was found guilty stealing clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, will first be teaming up with SIR Sean Connery in EMBERS.

Production on the Milos Forman directed movie begins in Czech Republic capital Prague this October (03).

Meanwhile, the actress is also attached to star in the title role of director Robert Altman's adaptation of Horton Foote's play THE WIDOW CLAIRE.

Embers, based on SANDOR MARAI's Hungarian novel of the same name, is about two men - once best friends - who meet 41 years after last seeing each other. They discover a young woman - played by Ryder - drove them apart.

The Window Claire - set against the backdrop of World War II - will see Ryder starring as a young widow with two children, caught between the affections of two men. - a sweet young soldier about to go to war and the town's most sought-after playboy.

Hollywood hunks Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew Mcconaughey are also in negotiations to star in the film.
