Movie star William Marshall, who shone as OTHELLO on stage and BLACULA on screen, has died in Los Angeles. He was 78.

The actor, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in recent years, was also a castmember of Star Trek in the 1960s.

Marshall was born in Gary, Indiana, and studied acting in New York. He was once hailed as "the best Othello," by THE TIMES of London.

But his most famous role was that of a camp vampire in the 1970s movies BLACULA and SCREAM, BLACULA, SCREAM.
