British singer/actor Will Young has advised up and coming young singers to watch their money, because record companies and management firms will encourage lavish lifestyles they can't support. The MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS star, who won TV talent show Pop Idol in 2001, was urged to book high-class hotels and flash modes of transport when he first hit the big time - even though he would have to pay for the expenses himself. Young says, "No one tells these new pop star that they'll be billed for all their 'perks'. "They tried to make me move out of my London flat and live in a hotel which, I discovered, I would be paying for, and to take limos - that I would be paying for. "I did not take very well to be told what to do. I was a man. I didn't need someone telling me how to cross the road."
