Will Smith is set to become the latest Hollywood superstar to hit the high seas after signing on to star in director Shawn Levy's new movie City That Sailed.

The Men in Black star will play a New York City-based father who finds himself sailing across the Atlantic Ocean with his daughter when the island of Manhattan breaks off from North America.

News of the adventure film comes as Robert Redford and Tom Hanks' all-at-sea films All Is Lost and Captain Phillips make waves at the international box office and a day after the trailer for Russell Crowe's Biblical epic Noah was released online.

Smith will also co-produce City That Sailed.
