Rapper and actor Will Smith has completed his first task as an ambassador for Nelson Mandela's Aids campaign - a meeting with the former South Africa president.

The charismatic entertainer has been recruited by 86-year-old Mandela to help educate young people about the deadly disease around the world.

And Smith admits before he met Mandela he feared he didn't possess the ability or power to teach youngsters about the dangers of unprotected sex.

He says, "I was saying to Mr Mandela, 'I am an actor, I make rap music, that's what I do. What can I do?'

"He said, 'You have to understand the power that you have and the hope that is created by what you do.'"
