British rapper Wiley has cancelled a London gig after the venue where he was set to perform was closed due to a shooting.

The Heatwave hitmaker, real name Richard Kylea Cowie, was expected to play a show at The Garage venue on Tuesday night (16Dec14) but promoters have postponed the concert after an incident in the area on Monday (15Dec14).

A police spokesperson tells NME.com that officers were called to a disturbance at the venue in north London, and a man was hospitalised with a gunshot wound to the leg. He is currently in a stable condition.

A spokesperson for promoters SJM Concerts says in a statement, "Following an incident which took place outside The Garage in London last night, the main venue is unable to open this evening. It is with regret that the venue has no option other than to cancel tonight's Wiley show, which is a decision in no way related to Wiley, his management team nor his support acts. The Snakes and Ladders Tour shall be moved to early 2015, new dates to be announced soon. Tickets for this show will be valid for the new dates of the tour, or customers can contact point of purchase for ticket refunds."
