Whoopi Goldberg is taking her hit film SISTER ACT to the stage - she has written a musical version of the movie.
The Oscar-winner received critical acclaim for her part as singer-turned-nun Deloris Van Cartier in the 1992 film.
Now she has developed a stage version of the story, which will open in London next year (09) - but insists she will not be reprising the role.
Goldberg tells the London Evening Standard, "I'm so excited about this. It feels right to bring back Sister Act. But we can't do it the way it was done in the film.
"It's going to be really, really spectacular and we are looking to breathe new life into the piece. I know London has a lot of musicals - but you can't beat singing nuns on stage... (The film) was nearly 20 years ago and it's time for someone equally fantastic to take the role of Deloris. We are looking at a couple of girls at the moment and I know whoever gets the part will be sensational."
