Whitney Houston took her daughter Bobbi Kristina to rehab with her as she attempted to kick her cocaine habit - so she could fully explain what had gone wrong in her mother's life.
The singer spent 30 days at Atlanta, Georgia's Hope For Women facility which allowed her to live with her teenage daughter, and she admits the time the pair spent there was invaluable because it gave the star the chance to be honest with her child about her addiction.
In a candid TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, Houston says, "I didn't lie to her, I couldn't... I kind of associated it (drug problems) to our lifestyle and what could happen.
"I kept her with me."
But that stint in rehab failed and the I Will Always Love You singer returned to abusing drugs upon her release.
It took an armed intervention staged by her mother to get Houston back into rehab for a more intense stint.
