Pop superstar Whitney Houston has axed her 2 July (04) outdoor concert in Berlin, blaming the bad weather for her decision.

The singer was scheduled to perform with Natalie Cole and her aunt DIONNE WARWICK at the WALDBUENE open-air arena, but organiser TCHIBO - a German coffee house chain - has confirmed she's pulled out of the eagerly anticipated event.

Spokeswoman STEFANIE VON CARLSBURG says, "We had hoped for 50,000 people to come and see them."

Tour bosses have assured Whitney fans none of her other German dates - in Hamburg, Munich and Oberhausen - will be affected by the bad weather Germany's experiencing, because the gigs are all taking place at indoor venues.

Berlin has suffered an abnormally rainy summer so far with temperatures dipping far below the national average for the time of year.
