Former Wham! and THE YARDBIRDS manager SIMON NAPIER-BELL has 'wed' his long-term gay partner in London. The pair met in Thailand in 1990 and have been dating ever since, despite a 33 year age gap. The 67-year-old pop mogul - who co-wrote DUSTY SPRINGFIELD hit YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME - went ahead with the civil ceremony to ensure YO, 34, receives a fair inheritance when he dies. He explains, "Our civil partnership ceremony took place in London recently. "I had my doubts about this gay marriage stuff - 30 years ago I would have told you one of the benefits of being gay was being able to avoid getting married. "But many things have happened since. For one, I've been living with Yo for 16 years and have grown old enough to think about what should happen to my estate when I die."
