Westlife have been honoured by Irish ambassadors with a lavish party to celebrate their entrance into the GUINNESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS - with the traditional red carpet swapped for a green one.
The FLYING WITHOUT WINGS boyband's record for the most singles to debut at number one in the British charts was marked by a plush black-tie function at the Irish embassy in London last night (26NOV03), and a series of stars - including LOVE ACTUALLY actress Martine McCutcheon, attended the event to congratulate the singers on their achievement.
Elated Westlife singer Mark Feehily is amazed at the incredible success his band have garnered, because it exceeds any of their original expectations.
He says, "We're in a place we never thought we'd get to. We're delighted to have been around for five years, we just couldn't be happier."27/11/2003 13:44
