Rockers Weezer have reached out to their fans in Jakarta, Indonesia after flooding left five people dead in the city.

Heavy rain this week (begs14Jan13) has prompted more than 15,000 residents to abandon their homes and officials have declared a state of emergency, warning the weather could worsen in the coming days.

The Buddy Holly hitmakers performed in the city earlier this month (Jan13), and they are upset to see the devastation, which has so far claimed the lives of five people.

A post on the band's page reads, "Fans (in) Jakarta, please stay safe, we see you have gotten flooded badly, not long after we left!"
