Warren Buffett, the American billionaire philanthropist, has signed on to make a cameo appearance on 'The Office' season finale, according to the Hollywood Reporter. 80-year-old Warren Buffett will appear in Thursday's episode of the show (12th May 2011) .
Buffett will be seen interviewing for the job of office manager as a replacement for Michael Scott, the character Steve Carell played until last month. The billionaire follows Hollywood actor Jim Carrey and 'Office' co-creator Ricky Gervais in making cameo appearances during the show's seventh season. Gervais, who wrote and appeared in the UK version of the show, reprised his role as the hapless boss 'David Brent' for an appearance in February. Other cameos lined up for the seventh season finale include 'Everybody Loves Raymond' star Ray Romano, American actor James Spader, British actress Catherine Tate and Will Ferrell, who reprises his role as the inept supervisor 'Deangelo Vickers'. Last year, Carell announced that he was leaving the Emmy Award winning show to spend more time with his children.
A long-term replacement for Steve Carrel is still yet to be announced, but American actor Harvey Keitel has been heavily linked with the vacant role. Back in 2010, executive producer Paul Lieberstein told E! Online, "He's probably the only guy who can do it, and he's doing TV now".
