Soccer star-turned-actor Vinnie Jones has leaped to the defence of director Guy Ritchie and Madonna's decision to adopt Malawi-born DAVID BANDA - insisting they "should be applauded". Jones first met Ritchie when they worked together on hit movie LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS in 1998, and the screen hardman is adamant that anyone who knows the pair would never doubt their intentions. He says, "If you knew them, they probably wanted to adopt every one of those children at the orphanage. "They don't just wake in the morning and think, 'Let's do this today', they will have completely thought it all over. They've done a fantastic thing and it should be applauded."
