Vince Neil – Vince Neil, the 49-year-old American singer and frontman of the rock-band Motley Crue, has been given a 15-day prison sentence after pleading guilty to drunken driving, reports Reuters. Vince Neil pleaded guilty in court yesterday (26th January 2011) after being caught driving under the influence in Las Vegas back in June 2010.
TESS DRIVER, an assistant to the Clark County district attorney, said that because of Neil’s guilty plea he avoided the maximum sentence of six months behind bars. The glam metal star served time back in 1984 following a car crash that killed his passenger, the HANOI ROCKS drummer NICHOLAS DINGLEY. Vince Neil will begin his sentence on 15th February 2011 and will also serve 15 days of house arrest upon his release. Driver added that the singer will also pay a fine of 585 US dollars, saying, “He’s getting a pretty solid sentence”.
The 49-year-old was driving a Lamborghini when authorities stopped him in Nevada last year. The police report from the incident states that Neil was driving dangerously and weaving between lanes. His arrest came just one week after the release of his solo album, ‘Tattoos & Tequila’.
