Victoria Beckham will unleash her new musical look on the world this weekend (12/13JUL03) - knowing if she fails her singing career is over.
After several failed attempts to top the charts as a solo artist, the former SPICE GIRL has repackaged herself as a hip-hop star, under the watchful eye of American rap mogul Damon Dash, who is convinced he can make Beckham a star on both sides of the Atlantic.
Her new single IT'S THAT SIMPLE, a collaboration with rappers M.O.P., will be played to millions of radio listeners in Britain on Saturday night (12JUL03) when Dash appears on DJ TIM WESTWOOD's BBC RADIO ONE show.
A friend of POSH SPICE says, "Victoria is absolutely certain that this will be a success. Ever since she met Damon, he's been bowled over by her singing. She's prepared for the critics but really believes this is her big moment."
And, despite the unfavourable reviews her recent solo efforts garnered, record industry insiders are confident Beckham has found her niche.
An American source says, "This song is going to be big. Everything Damon touches turns to gold when it comes to music."10/07/2003 17:17
