David and Victoria Beckham are planning on adopting a young girl from Africa, it has been claimed.
Grazia magazine has reported that the couple were drawn to the idea after David's recent trip to Sierra Leone.
The La Galaxy star spent four days in the country as part of his role as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations.
During the trip the former England Captain helped immunise babies and witnessed a birth.
"I was close to tears. I had to step back and take a deep breath. I'm a very emotional person and I'm even more emotional now I'm a parent," he said upon his return.
According to the magazine the Beckhams have sought advice from showbiz friend Tom Cruise, who adopted a son and daughter with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
Grazia quotes a friend of the couple as saying they had been considering the idea for a while.
A representative for the Beckhams responded: "They both have said that they admire people who go through the adoption process, their focus is raising their own three boys."
David Beckham recently missed out the chance to gain his 100th England cap, after not being picked in Fabio Capello's squad.
