Vanessa Hudgens clearly made sure she left no stone unturned when preparing for her role in 'Gimme Shelter.' Hudgens plays a homeless pregnant teen in the forthcoming film directed by Ron Krauss, to be released at some point in 2012, and the 23 year-old actress was meticulous in her preparation although, as E! Online have already whimsically quipped, she didn't get herself pregnant. Instead, she spent time living in a shelter in order to understand the situation her on-screen character was in.
"I actually went and stayed in a shelter for two weeks before I started filming," the actress said, continuing "I lived there with all the girls, with all the kids, so I think that it's really interesting because you find so much more about yourself." She took further preparation too, apparently in order to make herself more dishevelled Hudgens cut her own hair - unheard of in Hollywood circles of course.
"I actually cut my own hair for this movie. I did that to myself, yes I did," Hudgens says, adding that she, along with her costar Rosario Dawson, 'both look so messed up in this movie.'"The film also stars Brendan Fraser and Emily Meade among others, and will be one of three films Hudgens involved in to be released this year as well as 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,' and 'The Frozen Ground.
