The rock group Van Halen, fronted by EDDIE VAN HALEN have announced a 2012 tour. The group announced the upcoming tour via a series of 30 second clips on their official website. The dates of the tour are yet to be announced, although a scrolling message at the bottom of each video told fans that tickets will go on sale on January 10, 2012. 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of the band's existence.

This will be the first time that the band have toured since 2007 and it is likely that the touring group will feature drummer Alex Van Halen, bass player Wolfgang Van Halen and singer David Lee Roth. In November 2011, Van Halen signed a record deal with Interscope Records that will see them releasing their first album with Roth on vocals, since 1984. The last album released by the band came in 1998, with Gary Cherone of the band Extreme on vocals.

Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar caused a stir earlier in 2011 when he announced that he would be publishing his version of his time in Van Halen (1985 - 1996). According to a report from MusicRadar, Hagar stated that EDDIE Van Halen "always made me out to the bad guy" and his book Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock is set to put the record straight.
