In a new interview with Nova 100's Chrissie, Sam & Browny, the Melbourne-based breakfast radio station, the 37-year-old singer was asked whether he minded that his name was used in the rapper's 2005 hit tune.

Kanye rapped the lyric: "My best friend says she use to f**k with Usher," during the song, but the Confessions singer insisted he "didn't mind" at all.

"I don't mind if he says my name. He didn't really say it in derogative way, did he?" Usher told radio hosts Chrissy Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown. The trio then rapped the sentence back to him.

After breaking into a laugh, the Grammy award-winner added: "Yeah, well I don't mind, I was single," he smiled. "I was single, I was legal, that was legal."

Gold Digger featured guest vocals by singer and Ray actor Jamie Foxx. The single, from Kanye's second album Late Registration, peaked at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in September 2005, becoming the rapper and Foxx's second number one single. The song contains samples of Ray Charles' 1958 song I Got a Woman.

Meanwhile, Usher has been busy filming a music video in Atlanta, Georgia for his latest song No Limit, which features rapper Young Thug, from upcoming album Flawed.
