Union Of Knives
Following the release of the acclaimed debut album "Violence and Birdsong" Scottish trio Union Of Knives will release a 4 track EP on Monday 4th December to coincide with their UK tour.
Track 1 on the EP, 'Infant Eyes', is a brand new song and one of the highlights of their incendiary live shows. It's gnarly synthetic melody is, in trademark style, offset and complimented by the ethereal and emotive vocals. This one really jacks. Next up is 'Operated On', a firm favourite from the album, which Zane Lowe described thus, "You won't be disappointed, easily one of my favourite tracks.bit of Radiohead, DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, The Eels... incredible". Also new and exclusive for this EP is the stomping 'Every Treasure'. It closes the live show, and shows the band's dancefloor credentials. Epic, floor-filling stuff.
Union Of Knives have been busy this summer, playing live, building a solid fanbase, turning heads in the media, and putting together a film with Award winning director Joseph Briffa, one of this year's three Tartan Shorts directors. The film entitled "The Cut Up Suite", which gets its first showing at hometown gig King Tut's on Monday 23rd October features 3 tracks from the album, Evil Has Never, Operated On and Lick Black Gold all of which were the inspiration for a dark tale of twisted love, which Briffa filmed at various locations in Glasgow. Joseph is currently being mentored by Paul Greengrass, director of United 93 and Bourne Supremacy, through the UK Film Council's 'Guiding Light' scheme. More on this very soon..
