Uma Thurman has ruled out ever appearing nude in a movie again after the trauma she experienced when she bared all in Dangerous Liaisons when she was just 18.

The actress felt sure she was doing the right thing when she peeled off for the sexy 1988 Stephen Frears film, but she hated the way she was objectified once the movie hit the big screen.

She tells Esquire, "I felt some trepidation going in, but it was an art movie. It was based on this classic novel set in eighteenth-century France, and the scene was appropriate.

"But when Dangerous Liaisons came out, the scene was sensationalist in this really creepy, voyeuristic way. It made it seem out of character and it didn't make sense to me... I certainly didn't want to become a sensational sex symbol."
