Cosmic rock/pop explorers Ultrasound take another couple of seismic steps with the announcement of a concert at London Islington Assembly Hall on 1st June and the release of 'Between Two Rivers' / 'Deus Ex Natura' as a single to coincide on 27th May. The band are mid-way through their current headline tour, stopping London, Glasgow, Newcastle and Oxford.
The Islington show promises to be a unique Ultrasound experience, with the band bringing their cinematic punk-Floyd approach to curating an evening of cosmic music delivering us to a present with songs spanning light years. Support comes from Dead Rat Orchestra, with their acutely haunting and occasionally brutal sea of sound steering its ship through the primordial soul, whilst musician, artist and coder Simon Katan opens with a set evoking the formation of the galaxies.
Taken from their current sophomore album 'Play For Today', 'Between Two Rivers' is Ultrasound in excelsis, i.e. dramatically rugged and sonically beautiful, featuring a homegrown choir and The City Of Bradford Brass Band and lacking in neither volume or length. It's AA side 'Deus Ex Natura' is the first of two videos to be released with the single, made up of tour footage from their recent Scandinavian dates with The Darkness.
