U2 frontman Bono's prolific charity work has earned him the prestigious Chairman's Award at the 38th annual NAACP Image Awards. The campaigning rocker will receive his prize at a ceremony on 2 March (07), which will be screened in the US on Fox, reports MTV.com. National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People Chairman Julian Bond says, "(Bono) has been an inspiration to many people around the world through his music and humanitarian efforts." Beyonce Knowles and Mary J Blige lead the nominees for the Image Awards with four nods apiece.
