Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson has asked a judge to re-evaluate his custody situation with his ex-wife Norma after she allegedly refused him visitation with their young daughter on Tuesday (11Feb14).

The Fast Five star called police to Norma's home in North Hollywood, Los Angeles after the altercation, but eventually agreed to leave without six-year-old Shayla.

His representative has since addressed the incident, which was first reported on, claiming Gibson has been experiencing a number of problems with his ex and has filed court papers to have their custody arrangements re-assessed.

A statement issued to reads: "Norma Gibson, Tyrese's ex-wife, denied him a court custodial order with their daughter Shayla on Feb. 11, 2014. Tyrese arrived to pick up Shayla and was denied access by her mother. Mr. Gibson called the police to the scene, and Mrs. Gibson called Tmz.

"Sadly, this is not the first time this has happened. This has been an ongoing saga."

The publicist reveals the two parties are due to meet in court for a custody hearing later this month (Feb14).

The statement continues, "Tyrese filed a 730 (custody) evaluation with the courts in 2013, and the family will face a court-sanctioned evaluation this month. Hopefully this will end this ridiculous feud and Shayla can return to a comfortable environment."

The former couple split in 2009 after two years of marriage.
