British rockers Twisted Wheel have parted ways after seven years together.

The band announced the split by posting "R.I.P. Twisted Wheel" on

Frontman Jonny Brown later added a statement on confirming the news and thanking fans for their support over the years.

The message reads, "From Fuji Rocks Festival to Glastonbury, Elgin to Tokyo, Manchester to Stockholm, Dublin to L.A, toilet tours to supports with Paul Weller, Oasis, Ian Brown, Happy Mondays, Kasabian... It has been a true honour to have fronted such a great rock n roll band and play some of the most mental shows of the last 10 years... I cannot thank you fans enough for making the adventure so much fun. I wouldn't change a single minute of it for the world, but now it's time to move on."

Brown goes on to hint that he will return as a solo artist, adding, "I will continue to make music and it won't be long before I will be back gigging with new songs to play. Hope people can understand and note that all good things must come to an end... Hopefully will see you soon when I'm back with my next invention. Watch this space!!!"

The rockers released two albums during their career and boasted famous fans including Liam Gallagher and Paul Weller.
