Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider was roasted by rockers Gene Simmons and Alice Cooper in the name of charity on Thursday night (24Jan13).

The star helped raise money for MusiCares by serving as the butt of all jokes at the The Revolver/Guitar World Rock & Roll Roast of Dee Snider, where he was teased by famous pals including Black Label Society founder Zakk Wylde; his former competitor on The Celebrity Apprentice, Penn Jillette; and actor Mark Metcalf, who appeared in the Twisted Sister's music video for We're Not Gonna Take It.

Simmons and Cooper couldn't be there in person but they sent video tributes to the event, as did Lorenzo Lamas, Donald Trump, Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, model Brande Roderick, wrestler Chris Jericho and "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Cooper congratulated Snider on his "regionally successful music career," and Wylde poked fun at Snider's cross-dressing ways, telling the star's son Shane, "Those are some big gay shoes to fill."

In addition, Scott Ian of Anthrax quipped, "Twisted Sister tribute bands don't exist because no one wants to play the same two songs over and over."
