TV bosses at Twentieth Century Fox have scrapped a controversial new gay special after a furious attack from America's GAY + LESBIAN ALLIANCE AGAINST DEFAMATION (GLAAD).
The two-hour show, SERIOUSLY DUDE, I'M GAY, was to focus on two straight men passing themselves off as homosexuals in gay mecca West Hollywood - with the help of "gay coaches."
But the show, which was to air next month (JUN04). has been shelved following protests from GLAAD officials about the insensitivity of the TV programme and its content.
Fox insist the protests weren't the reason for the show's cancellation.
A spokesman says, "We looked at it, and creatively we felt it wasn't where it should be."28/05/2004 20:09
