Dr Dre has quashed all of the rumors currently circulating that he had the Tupac Shakur hologram created with the intention of taking it on tour. In one fell swoop, with a backstage interview recorded at the second leg of the Coachella festival and posted on YouTube, Dre slammed the rumors, saying, "It was strictly for Coachella, get it right. I want to get rid of all the rumors out there. This was not done for a tour."
Since the debut of the Tupac hologram (nicknamed Holopac), all sorts of rumors have emerged regarding the possibilities of a tour, with many people extending their imagination and thinking which other deceased artists could get the hologram treatment. Dre took time to thank all of the festival goers that had attended last weekend's Coachella 2012 debut, as well as all of the people that had taken time out to watch the footage online, but stressed "this was for Coachella 2012." However, he didn't completely rule out the possibility of a tour and left fans hanging by saying "if a tour happens. we'll see. but this was not done for a tour."
During the video, Dr Dre also thanked the two companies that were involved in creating and projecting the hologram during the headline performance last Sunday (April 15, 2012). He ended the video by saying "Now, I gotta get my a** on this stage and rock this motherf*cker. Dre, out."
