True Grit and Ender's Game star Hailee Steinfeld has been cast in the big screen adaptation of young adult novel Carrie Pilby.

The film, which will centre on a 19-year-old genius who graduates from America's Harvard University, will be directed by producer Susan Johnson, who will make her feature film debut on the project.

Caren Lissner wrote the novel in 2003 and has been developing the script, .

The movie is slated to start shooting in May (15), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
