Virgin Mountain And Bridgend Were The Toast Of The Tribeca Film Festival In New York City After Winning Three Awards Each On Thursday Night (23apr15).
Virgin Mountain, a Danish-Icelandic film about a socially awkward man who joins a dance class, scooped the coveted Best Narrative Feature prize and the Best Screenplay (Narrative) award for writer/director Dagur Kari, while its star Gunnar Jonsson was named Best Actor.
Danish drama Bridgend took the remaining prizes in the Narrative Competition including Best Actress for Hannah Murray, Best Cinematography for Magnus Jonck and an editing prize for Oliver Bugge Coutte.
The Best Documentary Feature title went to Democrats by Camilla Nielsson and the Nora Ephron Prize for female filmmakers was awarded to Sworn Virgin, a drama about gender identity directed by Laura Bispuri.
The winners were picked by a jury panel which included Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Buscemi and Minnie Driver.
The festival ends on Sunday (26Apr15).
