Trey Songz has conquered the Billboard 200 chart with his latest album, Chapter V reaching the top spot, reports Reuters.
Songz edged out rapper 2 Chainz' Based On A T.R.U Story to the Number One spot with 135,000 copies sold, making 2 Chainz' effort of 48,000 pale in insignificance. The album is Songz' fifth studio album and his first Number One album. Elsewhere in the charts, the compilation album Now 43 slipped down to third with sales of 43,000 and DJ Khaled's sixth studio album Kiss The Ring debuted at No. 4 with 41,000 copies sold.
It's been a slow week for the album charts, and Trey's latest album isn't by any means his best selling. His 2010 release, 'Passion, Pain and Pleasure' sold 240,000 copies but only made Number 2 in the album charts, which gives an indication to the lack of music sales currently. Adele's 21 sank four positions to No.12 in its 79th week. It's the first time the British singer's album, which has sold 9.7 million domestically, has been out of the top 10 since its early 2011 release. The rest of the top 10 was made up of Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Rick Ross, Avenue North and ONE DIRECTION.
