Trey Songz's fifth studio album, Chapter V, has topped the Billboard Album Chart by selling 135,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. This mark's Songz's first time at the top of the Album Chart, after his last release 2010's Passion, Pain & Pleasure, debuted and peaked at No. 2. DJ KHALID was another debut in the top five, with his new album Kiss The Ring debuting at number 4, whilst Justin Bieber and the long running compilation series Now That's What I Call Music 43 made up the rest of the top five, with NTWICM at 3 and Believe by Bieber at 5.
Two other debuts also made their way into the top 10, with Owl City coming in at number seven with The Midsummer Station and Christian band Tenth Avenue North making the number nine spot with The Struggle. Maroon 5, Rick Ross and One Direction made up the rest of the top ten, coming in at number 6, 8 and 10 respectively.
Altogether, ten albums debuted in the Top 50, with DUSTIN LYNCH, Lynyrd Skynyrd, DISPATCH, Bloc Party, The Darkness and Yeasayer all breaking into the chart on their first week.
