Travis star Fran Healy had to temporarily relocate to New York so he could start work on the band's new album, because his young son was too much of a distraction.
The singer is currently writing songs for the group's first record in four years after taking time off to concentrate on his solo material, and after struggling to concentrate at his family home in Berlin, Germany, Healy moved to his apartment in the Big Apple for some peace and quiet.
He tells Scotland's Daily Record, "It's all about getting the right head space when you write songs. It's all about getting the urge. You can go down into that wee (small) room you write songs in, but when you have a five-year-old son you're their PlayStation (games console).
"They're on your case the whole time and you really can't concentrate. I needed a good week of silence and concentrating to write, so I headed to our place there (New York).
"(My wife) Nora told me to take the break, have a holiday. You need a break from weans (his son), it's quite a job entertaining children."
