The family of a woman who was severely injured on the set of the new Transformers movie is suing film bosses for negligence.
Gabriela Cedillo, 24, was airlifted to hospital in Indiana in a critical condition after her skull was sliced open when a car stunt went wrong last month (01Sep10) and she's been receiving treatment ever since.
She has started to show small signs of improvement and can now breathe on her own and make small movements, but her family has now launched legal action against studio bosses.
The lawsuit, obtained by E! Online, states Cedillo has sustained "serious injuries and brain damage" and demands unspecified compensation and punitive damages.
Paramount studio bosses have covered all of Cedillo's medical bills and have issued a statement in response to the lawsuit, saying, "We are all terribly sorry that this accident occurred. Our thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with Gabriela, her family and loved ones. The production will continue to provide all the help we can to Gabriela and her family during this difficult time".
