A representative for rapper Too Short has denied the star was carrying drugs when he was arrested on Wednesday (20Mar13), hinting the stash found in a police car belonged to someone else.
The Blow The Whistle hitmaker was questioned by police officers over a traffic violation in the early hours of Wednesday and asked to undergo a sobriety test.
He allegedly attempted to run from the cops, but tripped on the street and was placed under arrest.
Too Short was then accused of trying to dump narcotics in the back of the squad car, before being taken into custody and booked for Dui and felony narcotics possession.
Now the star's spokesman David Weintraub has addressed his client's run-in with the law, claiming cops did not find the drugs until after they put Too Short into a litter-strewn police vehicle.
He tells Tmz.com, "Short was diligently searched and cuffed prior to being placed in the disgustingly filthy patrol car.
"It was 3am, the cop car smelled like vomit and was littered with remnants from prior arrests of the evening."
Explaining why his client is accused of trying to run away from police, Weintraub adds, "In the past, Short, like many others, has been mistreated by law enforcement and these unfortunate prior incidents led to the complications after the stop."
