Seventies singer Tony Christie has added to his number one single triumph in the UK by rocketing to the top of the albums chart.

The crooner's tune (IS THIS THE WAY TO) AMARILLO - which is enjoying renewed popularity since it was chosen as the surprise theme tune for British charity COMIC RELIEF's 2005 TV campaign - remains atop the singles chart for a second week.

And now the 61-year-old's greatest hits album, DEFINITIVE COLLECTION, has shot to number one in the albums chart.

(Is This The Way To) Amarillo - originally a chart-topper for Christie in 1971 - beat off competition from R+B star Mario's LET ME LOVE YOU, the highest new entry at number two, and rap heavyweight 50 CENT, who entered the chart at number four with Candy Shop.

Elsewhere in the albums chart, Stereophonics dropped to two with LANGUAGE. SEX. VIOLENCE. OTHER?, while dance act Basement Jaxx's THE SINGLES scored a new entry at number three.

American rockers Queens Of The Stone Age's new offering LULLABIES TO PARALYZE shot into the chart at number four.
