Tony Bennett is set to kick off the U.S. holiday season with an appearance at the 90th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
The veteran jazz star has been announced as a participant in annual parade, alongside singer/songwriter Sarah Mclachlan, hip hop stars De La Soul and the cast from beloved children's TV show Sesame Street.
Representatives for MACy's also announced via Associated Press that singers Kelsea Ballerini and Aloe Blacc will be involved in the event, which will take place on 24 November (16), with a TV special airing during U.S. show Today. Performers are set to include Regina Spektor, Maddie & Tae, Brett Eldredge and Chloe x Halle.
Christopher Jackson from the Broadway musical Hamilton is also set to appear plus U.S. Olympic gold medallists Laurie Hernandez, Claressa Shields and Michelle Carter as well as Paralympic gold medallists Mikey Brannigan and Gianfranco Iannotta.
To mark the 90th anniversary of the parade, some of the giant balloons have been given an upgrade. According to NBC, the balloon of cartoon character Charlie Brown has been freshened up and designers have remade the Felix the Cat inflatable to look exactly like it did in 1927.
