The Un-Break My Heart hitmaker was set to perform at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday (08May16), but she suffered a last-minute panic when a member of her band and a lighting technician dropped out of the gig.

The singer had been close friends with Prince before his passing last month (Apr16), and she's convinced the Purple Rain icon is still playing a part in her career, helping her resolve the concert crisis.

"I had a tour this weekend in Brooklyn, and I lost my guitarist - my guitarist wasn't available - and my lighting guy," she explained on U.S. talk show The View," and Prince's persons (sic) came and said, 'We can do the show for you!' so even in his death, he's like, still there supporting me."

During Toni's interview, she also recalled how the superstar had tried to help her bounce back from her money woes after filing for her second bankruptcy in 2010.

"He's been my big brother for years," she said, growing emotional. "When I was going through my bankruptcy, he was there; he called me... and said, 'Toni, I want you to go on tour with me and open up', but I couldn't because I found out I had lupus."

The 48-year-old went public with her battle with the autoimmune disease in November, 2010 as she attended the 8th Annual Lupus Bag Ladies Luncheon in Los Angeles.

She has since found a way to manage the illness and insists she is doing really well.
