Toni Braxton will star in a new sitcom based on her own life.
The GRAMMY-winning singer impressed TV executives with a series of recurring performances in the now-cancelled drama KEVIN HILL - and they are prepared to give her a show of her own, after her comeback album LIBRA is out of the way.
She says, "We are going to wait on the sitcom until after the album - probably next year (06)."
Braxton hopes the acting break will lead to a big screen career.
She adds, "I don't want to play a singer, because I want people to see me as an actress.
"I'm the kind of person whose brain has to be active, involved and learning, and acting does that for me. It's creative and new and titillates my brain."
