Tommy Lee Jones has joined the cast of 'Criminal'.

According to Variety, the 'Men In Black' actor will star in the upcoming Millennium Films spy thriller alongside Kevin Costner and Gary Oldman.

The picture centres on a dead CIA operative's memories, secrets and skills that are implanted into a dangerous prison inmate in hopes that he will stop a diabolical plot.

While details of Jones' part in the film are yet to be released, it is known that Academy Award-winner Costner will take on the starring role while Oldman will appear as a CIA chief.

Ariel Vromen - who wrote and directed 'The Iceman' - will direct from a script written by Douglas Cook and David Weisberg.

Chris Bender, J.C. Spink and Kevin King will produce while Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman and Jason Bloom will take on the role of executive producers.

Jones recently directed and starred in the western drama 'The Homesman' - which he debuted at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.

The movie - which will be released in November - also stars Hilary Swank, Hailee Steinfeld, William Fichtner and Meryl Streep.
