Former MAGNUM, PI star Tom Selleck has vowed not to follow in the footsteps of a number of his fellow footsteps by keeping his political opinions to himself.
The actor, who recently played former American President DWIGHT D EISENHOWER in TV movie IKE: COUNTDOWN TO D-DAY, is a registered independent who feels telling fans who to vote for in the upcoming presidential election is not his job.
He says, "My plan at this point is just to be a good citizen and vote, unless something strongly motivates me.
"I don't have any appetite for the kind of politics that says the sky will fall if you vote for the other guy.
"I don't think it's ethical to go out on someone else's nickel and use the opportunity to air my political views."
Selleck remains active with the CHARACTER COUNTS COALITION, which promotes childhood education in ethics.30/08/2004 21:07
