Rocker Tom Petty is having second thoughts about his plans to retire from touring after selling out a string of farewell concerts and receiving glowing reviews for his latest album. In a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year (06) Petty insisted his touring days with backing band THE HEARTBREAKERS were coming to an end. He stated, "I think we should do this tour and then put an end to doing national tours, and just play now and then where we want to play. "The idea of doing sheds or arenas... you turn into an animal by the time it's done." But now the grizzled rocker isn't sure he wants to call it quits. In a new interview with America's USA Today newspaper, Petty says, "There's a rumour that I'm not going to tour anymore. I don't think that's true, but I'd like to take a long break... I love playing, but it eats up so much of your life. "I'm really conscious of wasting time... I'm impatient now with anything that gets in the way of what I want to do."
