We can today confirm that the winner of this year's Critics' Choice Award, Tom Odell, will perform at The BRIT Awards Nominations ceremony at The Savoy Hotel on Thursday afternoon. Also confirmed to perform is singer / songwriter Jessie Ware.
Tom will be presented his 2013 Critics' Choice Award by the 2012 recipient Emeli Sande.
West Sussex-born Odell beat off stiff competition from AlunaGeorge and Laura Mvula to win the Critics' Choice Award, the first ever male to do so. Previously, Emeli Sande, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine and Adele have all won.
On winning the award he said, "I genuinely can't believe it. Thank you so much. Looking at the list of female artists who have won the Award already, I just hope I don't let the boys down."
Jessie Ware released hew debut album, 'Devotion', in August of last year to much critical acclaim.
The exclusive nominations event will be hosted by Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw. Highlights from the show will be available on the official BRITs You Tube Channel directly after the show.
It was recently announced that a new award is being introduced to the categories this year - the BRITs Global Success Award. This will be received by the act with the highest international sales achieved during the 2012 calendar year. These figures exclude UK sales. The BRIT Awards 2013 will also see the return of the British Live Act award - for the first time since 2009.
The BRIT Awards 2013 with MasterCard will see 11 bespoke Damien Hirst designed trophies presented on the night to those artists who have enjoyed extraordinary success over the last year, both in the UK and internationally. There is no higher accolade in British music. A 12th trophy will be presented to War Child in recognition of their incredible work as the charity celebrate their 20th year. Two awards (British Producer of the Year in association with the MPG Awards and the Critics' Choice Award in association with War Child) will be presented in advance of the ceremony.
